This was a good set of bands. Very different and very good.
Heidi Maria opened and Joan Baez comes to mind. Her voice and the harmonies supplied had audience members shushing noisy patrons so they could hear it all uninterrupted.
We played. We had a great time!
Mopery At The No Tell Motel. Do a search with this name and find their songs on MySpace. I hear Alison Moyet singing for the Arcade Fire channeling Ian Curtis' dance moves. This band doesn't sound like, but has the same inventive quality of Mercury Rev's BOCES cd.
London Vs. New York are insane. Circle Jerks on steroids.
Control is one of the best hard hitting songs around today.
Sorry about all the comparisons to established bands, but it is the easiest route to get the idea of the sounds.
